Brief introduction:

CEEID formally established in 2018. This Centre fully take the advantage in different research fields of CAS, make full use of the research platforms for EID of Institute of Microbiology (IMCAS), Center for Influenza Research and Early-warning (CASCIRE), the Institute Pasteur of Shanghai (IPSCAS) and the Bio-safety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory in Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIVCAS), to build a national research cooperation and communication center with all developing countries. The CEEID will focus on the frontier scientific questions in the field of EID and the strategic demands for the biological safety of our country, to provide great support for the execution of the strategy of global administration and economic principles.

Research field：Emerging Infectious Disease and biological safety Areas of research

To meet the needs of the national strategic demands, CEEID focuses on pathogenic microbiology and immunology, providing the forwardlooking technology and theory for the development of therapeutic drugs and vaccines of infectious diseases. The specific aims are to explore the evolution and pathogenesis of the emerging/re-emerging pathogens, and understand the mechanisms of interspecies transmission of viral pathogens and the interaction between pathogen and host cells, and infection and T/NK cell immunity, and develop novel therapeutic agents.
