The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. Global consensus has been reached on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) could greatly contribute to the implementation of the SDGs ("STI for SDGs"), that is, to achieve the SDGs, the STI play an indispensable role by resolving various emerging issues we face and by providing scientific data and analysis for better political decision. In light of this, CAS and TWAS established the CAS-TWAS Network for Sustainable Development (CTNSDG) in 2020.

  OUR VISION

Fueled by a sense of responsibility, CTNSDG seek to accelerate our impact in developing countries.  The achievement of SDGs needs action by all countries -developed and developing - in a global partnership. South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the fields of science and technology can greatly help to achieve SDGs. CTNSDG will bring diverse expertise and experience across disciplines on Science, Technology, and Innovation for achieving SDGs. Education and training will be offered to the youth and early-career scientists from least developed and S&T-lagging countries for them to realize SDGs. CTNSDG utilizes CAS and TWAS sources and experiences from CAS-TWAS Centers of Excellence, mobilizing support from other international organizations. CTNSDG aims to develop strong links between CAS, TWAS, universities, scientific institutions, and governments, providing a platform for international cooperation in achieving SDGs.

 OUR MISSION

• Carry out multidisciplinary research, encourage scientific and technological innovation, promote cross-disciplinary international cooperation projects, and publish cutting-edge research results.

• Establish an information exchange and sharing mechanism and build a high-quality scientific information sharing and service platform, making researchers in developing countries are able to obtain high-quality scientific data and information.

• Conduct flexible education and training for scholars in developing, building online and offline education and training systems, and carrying out capacity-building activities.

• Promote industrialization and technology transfer. Construct pilot projects, showcase successful experiences and cases,

• Seek various cooperation schemes with institutions around the globe, organize high-level international conferences, promote international exchange to advance North-South and South-South cooperation.
